MTS4L TETRA/LTE Base Station

The Motorola MTS4L TETRA/LTE Base Station is a future-ready solution for Motorola TETRA / DIMETRA Express networks, giving operators a simple, low-risk way to add LTE (eNodeB) alongside existing TETRA coverage. It can be deployed as a TETRA-only base station today, then upgraded later to include LTE—without changing the cabinet footprint or causing major disruption to live TETRA services.

The MTS4L is designed for smooth migration: it can be provisioned from day one with shared services such as backhaul and battery backup for the future eNodeB, or these can be added when LTE is required. When it’s time to expand, the eNodeB installs quickly in the same cabinet, keeping installation time, cost, and site disturbance to a minimum.

On the TETRA side, MTS4L supports key mission-critical capabilities including air interface encryption, interference detection and correction, Multi-Slot Packet Data (MSPD), hot-swappable modules, and intelligent capacity features like dynamic voice/data channel allocation and traffic channel rotation.
